About Zika virus

Zika virus is a disease that is spread by an infected Aedes Aegypti and it is mostly present in countries with tropical weather. The disease is not harmful itself but the consequences associated with it are dangerous, such as born of babies with microcephaly and the raise in the amount of people with Guillain-Barré syndrome. There are many possible things to avoid the born of these mosquitos, but it is a little bit hard to do it in developing countries, such as:
People with Zika virus has many simptoms, but be careful to not be confused with Dengue symptoms and Chikungunya symptoms, since they are almost the same ones. Once you have Zika before, you are likely prevented to have the disease for the second time. These symptoms include:

  1. Fever
  2. Rash
  3. Joint pain
  4. Conjutivictis
Pregnant woman should be more careful and prevent mosquitos bite by avoiding traveling to countries with Zika infection, wearing long-sleeve t-shirts and long pants, stay in places with air-conditioning and avoid places that you see still water in fonts or inside a tire. Zika virus is more dangerous in pregnant woman, because they are likely to have babies with microcephaly, a disease that has no cure, and, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, "a condition of abnormal smallness of the head usually associated with mental defects".

Zika Virus is also associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome, which is, according to HealthLine website, "a rare condition in which your immune system attacks your nerves, leading to muscle weakness and even paralysis."
